Brightstart Recruitment was set up by Mara, who has spent over 20 years working in nurseries.
Our story
After more than 20 years in nurseries, Mara has seen staffing from every side: the early-morning phone call when someone’s off sick, the agency worker who doesn’t know where to start, and the brilliant practitioner who just needed the right setting.
Brightstart exists to do recruitment the way nurseries actually need it — matching people to settings with real understanding of ratios, room routines, the EYFS and what makes a team work well.
We’re local to West London & North Surrey, and we want to be the agency nursery managers are glad to call and practitioners are glad to work with.

Care
We put forward people we’d trust with our own children, and we treat the people we place as well as we expect nurseries to.
Reliability
When we say someone will be there at 8am, they’re there at 8am. When we can’t help, we say so straight away.
Safeguarding first
No shortcuts on checks, ever. Children’s safety comes before filling a shift.
Our safeguarding commitment
Every candidate we put forward has provided an enhanced DBS certificate, two references, proof of their qualifications and their right to work in the UK. If we ever have a concern about someone’s suitability to work with children, we act on it.
